AI & Automation Readiness

“Where could automation help, and what must be ready first?” Discuss candidate workflows, data access, application capabilities, and approval requirements.

The interactive self-check below covers general IT and security. Compliance and AI reviews need a separate discussion and agreed scope. A questionnaire does not validate controls, establish audit readiness, or certify compliance.

Free IT & security self-check

Start with what you know. Mark what needs checking.

Choose Yes, No, or Not sure for every question. A “No” identifies a reported gap; “Not sure” identifies something to verify. A “Yes” is your reported answer, not independently verified evidence.

This self-check does not ask for names, email addresses, passwords, client records, or technical configuration details. Your selections are not submitted to Bream by this tool and reset when you reload the page. If you want a copy, print or save the results as a PDF through your browser.

1. Can you name the systems your most important business workflows depend on?
2. Do you have a current list of business devices and the person responsible for maintaining each?
3. Is multi-factor authentication enabled for business email and administrator accounts?
4. Are employee accounts and access reviewed when people join, change roles, or leave?
5. Are supported devices updated regularly, with unresolved patch issues tracked?
6. Have you checked that important business data can be restored from backup?
7. Do you know which vendors can access business systems and who approves that access?
8. Do employees know who to contact for an IT issue or suspected security incident?

What happens next

A clear boundary between a starting point and a deeper assessment.

01 · FREE SELF-CHECK

Identify questions

Complete the eight questions and receive an immediate summary of your reported gaps and unknowns. No purchase is required.

02 · INTRODUCTORY CONVERSATION

Discuss the need

Request a no-cost introductory conversation about your goals and the appropriate next step. This does not include technical testing, a detailed findings report, or a completed roadmap.

03 · PAID ASSESSMENT

Review evidence and priorities

If further investigation would help, Bream proposes a separately priced scope. Agreed deliverables may include evidence review, findings, a risk register, and a prioritized improvement roadmap.

No paid work begins without approval of the scope and price. Assessment fees depend on the systems, locations, requirements, evidence, and testing involved. Implementation and recurring support are separate decisions.

Make the output useful

From a finding to an assigned action.

A deeper assessment should help leadership decide what to do, why it matters, and who owns the next step. The example below illustrates a possible report format, not a finding about your business.

Useful business triggers

When a readiness review can help.

Something is changing.

You are hiring, opening a location, changing applications, renewing cyber insurance, or considering automation. A scoped review can identify dependencies before you commit to the change.

Ownership is unclear.

You do not know who manages updates, verifies recovery, approves vendor access, or investigates recurring issues. Start by documenting those responsibilities and the evidence available.

Common questions

Know what this assessment does.

Is the self-check free?

Yes. The eight-question self-check and its immediate preliminary summary are free. A deeper assessment is a separately scoped, paid service that you approve before work begins.

Will Bream receive my answers?

No. This tool does not submit the answers to Bream. Print or save your summary if you want to keep it. The contact page is a separate request and does not automatically include your selections.

Do Yes answers mean we are secure or compliant?

No. They reflect what you reported. Determining whether controls work requires appropriate evidence and testing. This self-check does not provide an audit, certification, penetration test, or formal compliance opinion.

What if I do not know an answer?

Select Not sure. Use the resulting summary to ask your internal IT team or current provider what evidence is available. Unknown answers are investigation topics, not proof that a control is missing.

Can we use this with our existing IT provider?

Yes. You can discuss the questions internally or with your provider. If you engage Bream, we agree access, responsibilities, and coordination before reviewing systems or evidence.

Can Bream help fix the issues afterward?

Yes, where the work fits an agreed service scope. Findings may lead to IT Projects & Consulting, Managed IT, or Co-Managed IT. You can review the assessment findings before deciding on implementation or ongoing services.
